DESCRIPTION
Formed in Sheffield, England, in 1973, Cabaret Voltaire is a groundbreaking electronic music band founded by Richard H. Kirk, Stephen Mallinder, and Chris Watson. A pioneering force in the industrial and post-punk scenes, they blended avant-garde experimentation with electronic rhythms. Early albums like "Mix-Up" (1979) and "Red Mecca" (1981) showcased their innovative sound. As trailblazers of the electronic body music (EBM) movement, Cabaret Voltaire influenced countless artists. The band evolved through various lineup changes and solo projects, leaving an indelible mark on electronic music. Their legacy endures as a sonic exploration of industrial, techno, and ambient genres.
